Storm Origins – Trailer

Q: How will you beat Volume 1?
A: Easy, set the bitches on fire.

That aside, yes the fire is real. Yes, Blue & Phil did taste quite nice once cooked. Yes, I did get food poisoning. Read on for more info. More, more, more…

This video will be far different from StormV1 as:

1) I was beaten and forced into making it contain a narrative instead of just slapping clips together in a timeline.

2) We had a bit of a budget to spend on Nandos during shoot days. This meant I could reward freerunners with nice tasty cockerel for doing bigger jumps – and there are some dirty things in the video. Imagine Rupert & James Murdoch engaged in coitus while rats swarm their sweaty, naked bodies in an abandonded newspaper printing plant – multiply that dirtiness by 9001 and you get Phil Doyle.

3) It’ll air on the televizzle during a very brief period of time where Channel 4 is actually cool – and by brief we’re looking at a time-frame smaller than Ununhexium’s half life.. I’M KIDDING GUYS, CHILL!!!!! You were also cool when you were showing Jimmy Carr’s Distraction.

4) Is the number of people in the super-mysterious Storm Team at the start of this shot film.

5) Is the number of people in the less-than-super-mysterious Storm Team at the end of this short film.

6) There are brief cameos from a fundamentalist Arab & a famous British freerunner who was exiled from Iceland for not adhering to puffin-eating laws.

Please also note that my decision to release the trailer on a Friday was influenced by Rebecca Black. Her last name also influenced the colour of the Storm mandem hoodies. It is also worth pointing out that people with the initials RB degrade humanity – although Rebekah Brooks probably doesn’t agree with me on this.

Actual relevant information

Storm Origins will be broadcast as part of the Concrete Circus documentary on Channel 4 this August. Broadcast date will be confirmed within the next week.

The short freerun film is directed, edited and shot by myself – with the help of a few other camera manz / assistants and stars Phil Doyle, Paul Joseph & Canadian superhunk Mathieu Ledoux. It’s produced by Renegade Pictures & ChristieHQ.

The documentary, Concrete Circus, is directed by MIKE CHRISTIEthat guy who directed Jump London, Jump Britain, and nearly everything else with Jump in the title. Apart from White Men Can’t Jump, I think.

The short film will be available online right after the documentary has aired.

Mike Christie, Mike Christie, Mike Christie.
He told me I don’t mention him enough so I hope writing his name down 3 times in this post is sufficient. Don’t read that out loud if you have an ultra glossy / reflective monitor as, well, you know the urban legend….
